We have an opportunity based at one of our Auckland quarries for a graduate with natural leadership ability and a willingness to learn.
You will initially be involved in projects affecting quality and process control. Your natural passion for heavy plant and the construction industry, coupled with your tertiary qualification and experience, will provide a base from which to grow and develop into future management roles.
We are looking for practical, ‘hands on’ people who are interested in learning about and improving processes. You will be a self-starter who can work alone or in a team and has excellent problem solving/analytical and communication skills.

GENERAL MANAGER - CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS

The key leadership role will take ownership of the Australian operations across all functional disciplines reporting to the Chief Executive based in New Zealand. This is a highly autonomous role that will drive operational excellence to deliver superior financial performance and market penetration through the development and implementation of strategic plans. Key to your success will be your ability to provide quality leadership and management excellence to inspire, motivate and empower staff to achieve a high performance culture. In addition, this role will participate in the management of Joint Venture partnerships through board representation and play an important role with industry bodies.
With extensive experience in a leadership function, ideally within the resources sector, you will have a strong business and commercial acumen with a demonstrated ability to lead a high performance team. It would be an advantage to have experience dealing with regulatory bodies in relation to resource development projects with an understanding of legislation, conditions and policies, and an understanding of environmental requirements, however this is not essential. You will be a strategic leader with excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills to influence others and build solid, long-term relationships.
